A Pathway Curriculum at Key Stage 4

Priory Integrated College uses a lot of information, including levels of literacy and numeracy skills, to help pupils choose the most appropriate GCSE or equivalent pathway at Key Stage 4. 

 

 

The Green Pathway

 

Pupils with a PTE (Progress in English) of 90+ study a series of core subjects including, English, English Literature, Maths, Science, and Learning for Life Work.  Another four subject are then chosen from a range of subjects:

Art, Business, Business Communication and Systems, Creative Technology, Digital Technology, Double Award Science, Drama, English Literature, French, Geograhy, History, Health and Social Care, Hospitality, Music, Public Services, RE, Sport, Technology and Design.

 

The Blue Pathway

 

Pupils with a PTE (Progress in English) of 89-84 study a series of core subjects including, English, Maths, Science, and some sort of Learning for Life Work communication.  Another four subject are then chosen from a range of subjects:

Art, Business, Business Communication and Systems, Carpentry, Craft, Creative Technology, Drama, Health and Social Care, Hospitality, Leisure & Tourism, Music, Public Services, Sport, Technology and Design, Occupational Studies that the Princes Trust Achieve programme.  These subjects are more vocational in nature, many of which are more biased towards portfolio work rather than examinations.

 

The Silver Pathway

 

Pupils with a PTE (Progress in English) of 83 or below study a series of core subjects including, GCSE English or Essential Skills Communication, GCSE Maths or Ascentis Application of Number, GSE or OCN Science and other Learning for Life Level 2 qualifications.  They have the opportunity to choose four more from:

Business Communication, Carpentry, Craft, Drama, Hospitality, Leisure & Tourism, Music, Occupational Studies and the Princes Trust.
