Career Ready

Our student Career Ready success story!

This Year 14 Student is a quiet, non assuming young man who has been an enthusiastic member of the Career Ready team this past year.  He has great ambition to attend university to study the field of Information and Digital Technology.  Around September last year he applied to be a participant in our first Career Ready adventure, and what an adventure it has been.

Our student was paired up with a mentor from Allstate Belfast, who he met on a regular monthly basis, he was able to gain lots of subject specific IT knowledge over the months and quickly developed a mature attitude to the realms of meeting.  He visited Allstates first class offices where he gained real hands on experience of an IT working environment, and was involved in Q&A sessions.

It was an absolute pleasure to hear that our student had been accepted onto the Citi Summer Internship programme.  Here he worked on liveprojects and alongside employees of Citi as well as an individual project to redevelop the Citi Womans Collaborative website.  He worked in the Risk & Control department on projects to analyse risks of external email access and remote access.  Mrs Keatings-Hunter had the pleasure of attending the graduation at Citi during the summer months, she commented on the manner in which he represented himself and Priory.

He has recently been nominated for the Career Ready Student of the year.  We wish him luck!
