The year 11 Creative Media pupils were delighted to have had the opportunity to meet Joel Simons, producer and director of the Northern Ireland animation company Hola Lola. We would like to thank Cinemagic and Into Film for arranging this event. We found the day extremely beneficial and interesting. The pupils were fascinated by Joel’s experience as an animator and enjoyed listening to the creation of his many different styles of animated products. The pupils are grateful for the information Joel provided on the process for creating an animated product and feel at ease now about tackling the GCSE coursework. Joel provided vital information that the pupils themselves will now carry out for their course work, from scripting to storyboarding and creating the animation.
We have great admiration for the work created by Joel and would like to thank him for this experience.
