For the past number of years, the college governors have been reviewing the ways in which we promote the college throughout the community and many improvements have taken place as a result. The image and reputation of our college in the community is crucially important and we know that our young people are our greatest advertisement. It is therefore important that we include the college uniform in this review.
After lengthy consultation with college staff, the Student Council here in the college and Parents 4 Priory, we have now confirmed our new college uniform, which will be introduced from September 2016. In doing so, we believe we have improved the quality and appearance of the uniform whilst maintaining affordability. The approved stockists of this new uniform will include Gowdy’s, School Days, Roberts and Focus, as has been the case in the past. Other stockists may be included before September 2016.
Please be reassured that the introduction of the new uniform will be phased in so that we avoid any unnecessary financial cost to our parents and carers. The timescale for its introduction will be as follows:.
From September 2016
Our approved stockists will only supply the new uniform for the academic year 2016-17. If you wish to purchase a replacement item for your son / daughter to start school in September 2016, only the new uniform will be available for purchase. However, for this first year only, the college will allow students in Years 9-12 to continue wearing items of the old uniform if they are still in good condition / the correct size for them. All new Year 8 and Year 13 students will be expected to wear the full uniform from 1st September 2016 and we will be delighted if pupils in other year groups can do the same.
From September 2017
We expect students in all year groups from Year 8 – 14 to be wearing the new uniform in full from 1st September 2017.
The new uniform is already being worn by our Year 13 students this year and samples are also on display in the college foyer. A full list and description of what it comprises of will be made available on our college website shortly. I hope that you will agree with us that the new uniform will be one that we can all continue to be proud of and which our young people will enjoy wearing.
