Assessment Windows are periods of time throughout the school year where students’ progress is assessed and compared to their target grades that have been set by subject teachers and based on on CAT 4 and NFer data, as well as the teachers’ professional judgement and experience of the pupil. They are used to monitor performance to highlight over and under achievement. Where under achievement is detected, intervention strategies are employed in order to support under achieving students and improve their performance in that subject area.
